“Best Women Entrepreneur Award”

“Best Women Entrepreneur Award” for 2013-14  was provided  to Mrs. Vedha Valli of  M/s.Leclar Impex, Chennai,  on 5.9.14 by  ‘Thozhilathibar Ulagam’ (World of Entrepreneurs).  The Awards were presented by  Shri. Rangasamy, Chief  Minister,  Puducherry.  Mr. Chozha Nachiar,  President, Tamil Chamber of Commerce and other  State  Govt. Officials  were also present  during the Award Ceremony.  

Efforts  of  Mr. Sekar, Annakaputtur, Chennai for  “Limca  Book of Records”

The handloom weaver, Mr. C Sekar, of Anakaputtur JUTE Weavers Association, Chennai,  had made a saree out of 25 different fibres, all of them natural,  including  JUTE. This feat  has put his name into the Limca Book of Records  in 2011

New Innovations of Jaya Prakash, Favaourites

The New Jute Entrepreneur Mr. Jaya Prakash, of M/s.Favourities, from Tirupur, Tamilandu, India, has come out with New Jute Knee Brace, in  the  Surgical  Field,  to  supplement  with  “Eco-Friendly”  Jute products.    He  also  got a Free Stall and an opportunity to participate in the  i3  Expo (Ideas, Innovations & Inventions), held at Coimbatore during  27^th to 29^th Sep’2013.  

Mr. Jaya Prakash has also  newly developed Foldable Jute Tiles,  which is being  shown to Mrs.Beela Rajesh, E.D., Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC), during the  Buyer-Seller Meet at Chennai on 19^th Dec’2013,  organised by NJB, in association with  Federation of Indian Exporters Organisation (FIEO )  

Efforts  of  Prince  Venkateshwara   Arts  & Science  college for

“Limca  Book of Records”

Shri. Prince  Venkateshwara   Arts  & Science  college,  Chennai,   has  made  an  effort   to   enter  the  Limca Record  of  Achievements,  by  making  a  “Longest  Eco-Friendly Festive  Thoran”  of  Jute  and other natural products,  to  an  extent of  750  meters,  with  nearly 1500  students,  in their  Campus  on  14^th Aug’2013,  in spite  of  continuous pouring  rain.   Hon’ble  Shri. T.K.M. Chinnaiya,  Minister  of  Animal Husbandry, Govt. of Tamilnadu,  inaugurated the  event and  distributed the  Eco-Friendly Jute materials  to  the  students.  Thiru.“Vietnam Veedu”  Sundaram,  Cine  Director,  Shri.T.Ayyappan,  NJB, Chennai  and  other  Local  officials, were   also present  during the  occasion.   Pidilite  Industries  made  the sponsorship  for  the  Mega  Event.   Photos  showing the   Glimpse  of  the  event  is  given  below :

Award  for Best Jute Women Entrepreneur ( Pudhumai  Poovaiyar)  in Tamilnadu State for the year 2013 being  awarded  to Mrs. Lata  Dhanasekar of  M/s. Lata  Enterprises, Bhavani  by  Smt. Dr. Meena Muthiah,  Kumararani of  Chettinad  on  15th Mar'2013,  in the Presence of   Ln. Dr. Sathyaprema, District  Chairman, Lions Club,  Dr. P.T. Vijayshree,  Principal, KRMM  College,  Mr. K. Arivazhagan,  Editor, Aval Vikatan   

 Award  for Best Eco-Friendly product manufacturer  in Kerala State for theyear 2008 being  awarded  to Mr. K.C. Job of  M/s. Sangeeta bags, Cochin  by  Shri. Ramesh Chennithala,  President  Kerala Pradesh Congress  Committee  in the Presence of  Shri..  K.V. Thomas Union Minister of State for  Agriculture 

The Prince of Wales awarded the BITC Supply Chain Award to  Pudhucherry based  Sai Supreme’s “JUTE BAG” at the  Annual Business in the Community (BITC) Awards for Excellence in 2009.
